Description

The Producing + Advancement Internship will work closely with our artistic, programming and development staff to plan for and assemble the presenting program for the 2024 Los Angeles Exchange [LAX] Festival. Working closely with key staff, the intern will contribute toward overall festival planning, marketing, artist communication, venue coordination and planning, and development efforts. They will make meaningful contributions toward our individual giving, grant writing, and communications, supporting our artist-driven programs and projects. Our annual LAX Festival serves as a highly visible platform for contemporary theater, dance, and interdisciplinary performance projects and reaches thousands of audience members in the greater Los Angeles area. This intern will work approximately 20 hours a week, June through December. 

Qualifications

Competitive candidates for our Producing + Advancement Internship will have:   - Passion for supporting contemporary dance, music, and/or experimental theater with working knowledge or interest in Los Angeles-based artists.  - An interest in producing new work and/or working with a multidisciplinary presenter.  - Knowledge of contemporary performance aesthetics, history, and forms.  - Experience and/or strong interest in fundraising, development, and/or marketing for the arts.  - Interest in writing for or about performance.  - Proficiency in Google Office Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Drive, Slides, Calendar).  - Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).  - Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize work.  - Attention to detail; problem-solving skills.  - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.  - Positive attitude  - Interest in graphic design and/or video editing is a plus

Los Angeles Performance Practice is devoted to the production and presentation of contemporary performance by artists whose work advances multi-disciplinary practices. We support a diverse constellation of artists and audiences through the creation and presentation of groundbreaking experiences with innovative approaches to collaboration, technology and social engagement.
