Description

The Gloria Molina Grand Park Marketing Intern will support, build, and implement a community outreach strategy for our Lunch Park program, under the guidance and supervision of the Gloria Molina Grand Park Marketing Manager. Lunch Park program will be Gloria Molina Grand Park’s summer lunchtime programming on Wednesdays and Fridays, which will feature family-friendly live music, food trucks, and health and wellness activities including yoga, guided meditation, and more. 

Gloria Molina Grand Park is the park for everyone. Established in 2012, Gloria Molina Grand Park is twelve acres of public green space in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Gloria Molina Grand Park’s programming reaches more than 125,000 participants each year from across Los Angeles County. Our multi-disciplinary programs include live music, dance, and theatrical performances, as well as interactive elements such as arts & crafts, yoga, and opportunities for participants to dance and move. Each event also features booths and activities led by local businesses and service organizations, helping to build community, share resources, and strengthen neighborhood economies. The intern’s work will support the Park’s efforts to reach more Angelenos with high-quality artistic experiences, enriching health and wellness programs, and opportunities to connect with local businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
•The intern will work with the Marketing Manager to create a timeline and tactics for the campaign which will unfold during the summer. 
•The intern will research local non-profits and service organizations, and then develop outreach strategies with the Marketing Manager to build partnerships with them to increase their constituencies’ awareness of and attendance at the programs. The campaign will have a particular focus on reaching residents of nearby neighborhoods, including Boyle Heights, Historic Filipinotown, and Chinatown; and we will also work to engage local families with children who are out of school for the summer.  
•The intern will also provide general support to the Gloria Molina Grand Park Marketing team for all summer programs including but not limited to the popular Gloria Molina Grand Park Sunday Sessions electronic music series and the Gloria Molina Grand Park 's 4th of July Block Party which is attended by over 25,000 people.

This position will work approximately 25 hours a week from July through October. 

Qualifications

•Qualified candidates will possess a creative mindset and readiness to collaborate in a team environment. 
•Problem-solving and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to take initiative in carrying out responsibilities with professionalism. 
•Strong candidates will also have an interest in marketing, photography, concise writing skills, familiarity with social media with a focus on Facebook,  Instagram and TikTok , and be able to manage a small program budget under supervision. 
•Knowledge of Adobe PDF and Adobe Creative Plus software are preferred but not required.

Vaccination Policy: The Music Center requires its employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to certain exemptions as required by law. New hires working at The Music Center must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, receiving either the primary 2-dose or 1-dose vaccine.
