Santa Clarita Shakespeare presents a summer cultural festival, the LA SummerFEST, an eclectic festival of music, theatre and special events. Additionally, SCSF has a year-round educational program, providing assemblies and educational programs for students and throughout the community.
The Festival Production Intern will assist with the production and presentation aspects of our annual summer theatre festival, and virtual productions throughout the year. The general scope of work will include assistance with the technical, production and “front of house” aspects of our 2020 virtual summer season. Primary duties of the intern will include: assisting with the presentation of the virtual performances, assistant stage management during presentations, assistance with the development and production of our virtual “front of house” and “playbill” material for presentations. Additional duties may include: assist in research for company policy development, and assist in the research of season development. This position will work about 15 hours a week from August through February, and is a fully remote position.
Students interested in the Production Festival intern position should have: *General understanding of theatrical production (lighting, sound, or general production), or Interest in theatre, production, or community events. *Positive attitude and positive team relations are a must. Interested students should be organized, work well in a collaborative setting, and can remain positive in the sometimes hectic, or stressful periods of work (pre-event orpre-production preparation, tech week). Must be able to participate in production load-ins, performances, events, and presentation including: standing and walking for extended periods of time, ability to follow directions and safety procedures. Ability to lift 20 lbs. Reliable transportation to and from the internship. An open or flexible schedule during the internship.
