Background

Harmony Project harnesses the transformative power of music to increase access to higher education for underserved students by removing the systemic barriers to achievement through academic and social support. We engage children from Kindergarten through 12th grade in a tuition-free, year-round, sequentially-structured music program. We complement core music programming with holistic social support services including mentorships, counseling, and college workshops. Our approach is based on more than 20 years of internal data collection, scientific research, and sequential learning standards and incorporates youth development opportunities centered around community-building, leadership, 21st-century job readiness, and social advocacy.
