On Monday, October 12, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, the Los Angeles City/County Native American Indian Commission will be partnering with The Huntington to host a panel discussion and light reception. The conversation will be moderated by Amanda Wixon (Chickasaw Nation), associate curator of native history at the Autry Museum of the American West, and feature Lauren van Schilfgaarde (Cochiti Pueblo), assistant professor of law at UCLA Law; Dawn Jackson (Saginaw Chippewa), LANAIC Commissioner; and Rudy Ortega Jr. (Fernandeño Tataviam), former LANAIC Commissioner.
