Background
Employee Wellness Through the Arts Week is part of an ongoing collaboration between DHR and Arts and Culture through the County’s Creative Strategist–Artist in Residence Program. Since July 2023, Creative Strategist christy roberts berkowitz has partnered with DHR to advance the County’s Employee Well-being Initiative through arts-based strategies that promote creativity, connection, and resilience. This work has included the development of the County Wellness Journal, wellness arts festivals held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in 2024 and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in 2025, and virtual Healing Through Creative Writing workshops and Poems of the Living creative writing anthology, developed in response to the 2025 wildfires.
