Description

McGroarty Arts Center is seeking a Marketing & Special Events Intern who will be responsible for duties essential to the planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the 2026 Events Series, which includes a juried ceramic art show, lectures, workshops, concerts, and a major fundraiser.  The Marketing & Special Events Intern will play a key support role in producing event programming, including a juried ceramics show, public concerts, lectures, workshops and fundraising events. This hands-on position offers experience in event implementation, marketing, social media management, and guest relations, allowing the intern to play a role in specific projects from conception to completion.   This internship will run from June to December 2026, requiring 15 - 20 hours per week. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a strong interest in community arts programming and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is essential. Previous experience with social media, marketing, or event promotion is preferred, but not required.

McGroarty Arts Center provides access to the arts through in-depth arts instruction and experiences.Affordablemultidisciplinary arts education is offered to at-risk youth, children, and families, as are performances,exhibitions,and events that engage the greater public. The Center is a venue for artists to present their work, whilepreservingthe legacy of John Steven and Ida McGroarty and their historic home.
