The Production Intern will be a key member of the team producing the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival, an entire summer of classical theater presented free to tens of thousands of Angelenos. The intern will serve as an assisting member of the Production Team for the main stage production of the Festival. The intern’s duties during rehearsal process include note taking, being responsible for props and other assigned tasks that support the Stage Manager, Director, Producers and Designers. For the run of the production, the intern will be a part of the backstage team for, working approximately 40 hours a week from June through Labor Day. Internship will start in June 2026 and end in September 2026 working 40 hours a week.
The intern must possess a great interest in theater-making, strong interpersonal skills, time-management skills, be a team player, a problem solver, and a self-starter. The intern should have a basic understanding of the production process; prior stage management experience is preferable. The intern should be collaborative, flexible, positive, and enthusiastic, and not be afraid to get their hands dirty. Light carpentry skills and basic sewing skills are assets. Evening and weekend hours are required. Reliable transportation is required.
