Located in Little Tokyo, the historic heart of the Japanese American community, JACCC was founded in 1972 as the dream of visionary Issei and Nisei (first- and second-generation) Japanese Americans to create a permanent center where arts and culture come alive and flourish. JACCC’s pursuit of artistic excellence is driven by our commitment to preserve and showcase traditional Japanese arts and to contemporize them as an expression of our heritage within the diversity of cultures found throughout Los Angeles County. Our in-person and virtual exhibitions, event, performances, programs, and festivals showcase Japanese art forms such as flower arranging, bonsai, tea ceremony, calligraphy, and cuisine–ensuring their vitality for future generations.
