The Production Studio with Purpose Intern will support daily studio operations at Kids In The Spotlight’s professional film and television space in Van Nuys. The intern will help prepare the studio for youth-led and client productions, assist with scheduling and inventory, and contribute to the smooth coordination of studio activities and events. This position will work approximately 30–35 hours per week from June 2026 through February 2027.
Applicants should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced studio environment. Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills are important, along with an interest in film, media, or arts management. Candidates must be comfortable performing hands-on tasks and able to lift 15–20 pounds as needed to support studio setup and production activities under the supervision of OSHA-certified KITS staff. Basic familiarity with production equipment or experience in creative or administrative settings is helpful but not required—training will be provided. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook is preferred, but most importantly, applicants should be eager to learn, adaptable, and open to developing new skills through hands-on experience.
Kids In The Spotlight (KITS) is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that empowers foster care-impacted and opportunity youth to heal, grow, and succeed through storytelling, filmmaking, and career training. At our Production Studio with Purpose in Van Nuys, youth ages 12–24 learn to write, cast, and star in their own short films under the guidance of industry professionals. Through hands-on programs and professional mentorship, KITS helps young creatives build confidence, gain technical skills, and access pathways to careers in film and television.
