Their primary project will focus on designing and implementing a social media campaign for ¡ORDENA!, a celebratory food truck experience of dances in August 2026. Rooted in collaboration with local Latino artists and residents, ¡ORDENA! highlights the neighborhood’s stories, culinary traditions, and creative spirit, embodying HDD’s mission to make dance accessible and inclusive. In addition to the primary production and marketing projects, the interns will assist with day-to-day administrative and operational activities that contribute to the overall success of Heidi Duckler Dance’s artistic and community programs. These responsibilities will include clerical duties and general office support such as filing and organizing. The interns will help update HDD’s databases, track survey reports, and assist in the creation of evaluation tools that measure audience engagement, educational impact, and community participation.
The interns will also play a hands-on role in supporting live performances, rehearsals, and community-based events. This may include front-of-house assistance such as greeting guests, managing check-in lists, setting up event spaces, and coordinating with production and communications staff to ensure smooth event operations. Through these experiences, the interns will gain valuable insight into the logistical and interpersonal aspects of presenting site-specific dance and community programming.
Other activities may include assisting with social media scheduling, supporting filing, mailings or press outreach, and helping to prepare materials for donor and community presentations. These day-to-day tasks will provide the intern with a comprehensive view of how an arts nonprofit functions, reinforcing the connection between behind-the-scenes administrative work and the realization of artistic projects in the community.
