The Creative Media Intern(s) will work directly with staff members leading our Creative Camp: month-long summer workshops in screenwriting, filmmaking, music production, and spoken word performance. The intern will assist our staff in the development, scheduling, and teaching of media workshops that teach and guide students to tell powerful stories across mediums while building their craft and confidence. They will work with youth production teams to support students’ content creation throughout their term. The intern will also help coordinate visiting professionals from our partner organizations such as Creative Artists Agency (CAA), William Morris Endeavor, and the Writers Guild of America.
Interns may also assist senior staff with general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, organization, and occasional errands. The Get Lit staff is a small, tightly knit team. The interns will be expected to pitch in on projects, regardless of size, should assistance be required.
Get Lit expects applicants to have basic computer skills, have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and be familiar with Macintosh operating systems. Candidates should have an interest in marketing, media, fundraising, and/or literary and performing arts. Other skills useful for these positions include: proofreading skills, event experience, and an ability to communicate with a wide range of people including teenagers, parents of students, professional staff members, and organization Board Members.
