The Marketing Communication's intern’s primary project is to help amplify the organization's reach and relationships with community members by strengthening our communications and marketing strategies via content creation (short-form videos and photos), updating the organization’s social media platforms and engaging with community members and participants to collect marketing content such as testimonials. The intern will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the Communications Coordinator in drafting copy for the organization’s monthly newsletter and use basic graphic design skills to create graphics for our newsletters and social media content.
All Las Fotos Project staff and interns are expected to support our public events and workshops when possible. The interns may be asked to support these activities with duties such as attendee registration, greeting guests, event set-up and tear-down.
A deep interest in a Communications, Marketing or Public Relations degree or career. Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok (an understanding of utilizing social media insights tools a plus). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with graphic design, Canva or Adobe software is a plus.
Las Fotos Project provides free photography mentoring and training to young women and gender-expansive youth. We have a deep-seeded value for social justice, healing and creating equity in the arts sector. The Photo Education Intern will have similar values and an interest in creating safe spaces for young women and gender-expansive youth.
