This year marks a meaningful milestone—the 100th anniversary of Black History Month. At the Department of Arts and Culture, we are honored to recognize the extraordinary contributions of Black artists, cultural leaders, and communities who have shaped and continue to shape the cultural life of LA County. We congratulate the State's first Black Cultural District here in the county, and online, we celebrated the Golden State Mutual Collection, a testament to Black entrepreneurship, artistic excellence, and community vision whose enduring legacy continues to shape the cultural landscape of Los Angeles through the LA County Civic Art Collection. We were also proud to support the Black History Month Celebration hosted by the Department of Parks and Recreation at Altadena's Loma Alta Park. Since June 2025, we have been present in the Altadena community through arts-based healing engagements as part of our Creative Wellbeing initiative and Conservation Clinics for fire-impacted community members…
