This internship is ideal for students interested in arts education, sustainability, and community engagement. You will gain hands-on experience designing and facilitating creative reuse art workshops, working with repurposed materials, and learning directly from experienced teaching artists. In addition you will have the opportunity to learn about the vast array of art materials that come through the donation center. If you enjoy combining creativity with environmental stewardship and want to explore how art can engage communities, this position offers meaningful, practical experience in a supportive nonprofit environment. The position is approximately 24 hours a week from June through September.
Prospective interns should have a strong interest in arts education, sustainability, and creative reuse. Basic experience with hands-on artmaking (such as painting, sculpture, fiber arts, or mixed media) is preferred, as is an interest in working with youth and community participants. Applicants should have good organizational and communication skills, a willingness to learn about materials management and studio operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, teaching artists, and volunteers. No advanced technical skills are required, but curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to environmental stewardship are essential.
