Description

The Education And Social Media Intern will assist with the educational program for the organization. The general scope of work will include assistance with planning, coordinating, instruction, and facilitiating summer theatre camp and workshops . Primary duties of the intern will include assisting the associate director of education of the organization, assisting in the instruction of theatre workshops, class management, assist in the final presentations of the youth activities, and assist preparing fall after-school enrichment programing. Additionally, this position will assist in social media posting for the educational programming and performances  This position will work for 400 hours, a minimum of 15-20 hours a week from June through October.
 

Qualifications

General understanding or interest in theatre, arts education, or general education.  Interest in theatre or community events is strongly encouraged. Understanding of social media and some social media skills (creating posts, sharing, linking). Positive attitude and positive team relations required.  Please be advised, as per our company's policy, employees, volunteers and interns that may come in contact with students and youths may be required to be fingerprinted. Background

Santa Clarita Shakespeare is a small professional theatre company in Northern Los Angeles County. Each summer the SCS produces a Summer Theatre Festival, with 3-5 productions and special events, including: a FREE SHAKESPEARE production, a children's production, a new work, and a re-imagined classic play. Now in its 31 year as an event in the community; SCSF partners with other theatre companies and nonprofits to create a community wide festival of theatre, music and events. SCSF also provides summer educational opportunities for local youth with workshops, summer theatre day camps, and performances.
