Tierra is seeking an Arts Management and Archivist Intern to support career artists, who have developmental disabilities, to develop and maintain art portfolios. Portfolios, with a consistent review process, allow artists to be at the center of developing their skills and receiving formal critique and mentoring on their technique and work habits. The intern will use retrieval systems (used globally in museums, galleries, and art agencies) as they review physical art inventory, take high-quality photos, document each image, and save the photos to the archival system. Through this project, the intern will advance Tierra’s mission by expanding the impact of the artists’ work, appreciating the talent of career artists, and making it possible for people to appreciate the individual contributions of these artists. This position will work approximately 15-20 hours per week from July 2026 through February 2027, during program hours (8am through 4pm).
Tierra is looking for someone with a passion for art and social justice, who is self-motivated, can work independently or collaboratively, and is able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, expanding environment. Tierra is a drug- and alcohol-free work environment. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements found at https://www.lacountyarts.org/. New hires must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and TB test.
