Public art often comes with unexpected challenges—but these moments can lead to meaningful growth. In this session, artist Susan Logoreci will share how she uses feedback, constraints, and even rejection as opportunities to evolve her creative practice. Through case studies of real-world projects, Susan will walk participants through moments where client input or institutional push-back led to stronger outcomes. She’ll also reflect on the shift from studio/gallery-based work to the demands of creating for public space and broader audiences. This session offers a candid look at the realities of the field and tools for staying adaptable, open, and resilient.
Susan Logoreci creates contemporary, urban landscapes. Her art deals with themes of uncertainty and optimism within our cities and communities. When you look at her artworks up close, you see every individual window and roof that makes up a city. From a distance, you see an intricate grid that is as planned and stable as much as it is fragile and disordered. Her drawings have been seen in Art in America, the Los Angeles Times, Harper’s Magazine, as well as many other periodicals. Her drawings are held in several, prominent collections including the U.S. State Department, City National Bank, Creative Artists Agency, Marriott and Hilton Hotels, Los Angeles Metro, Los Angeles County Arts Commission and in several law and urban design firms. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She received her Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute and her Master's of Fine Arts degree from Cal State Long Beach.
