The Literary Intern will advise and support the Literary Manager/Director of New Play Development and the Artistic Director with all New Play Development functions for Boston Court Pasadena, including reading, writing coverage, and recommending scripts for consideration. Additional tasks might include dramaturgical research, coordination of scripts, communication with agents and artists, attending staff, literary, and dramaturgical meetings, and assisting with the creation of promotional materials for new play events. The position will begin in August of 2021 and will culminate in a reading of a new play in February 2022, working approximately 15-20 hours per week. The position is currently working remotely, but may move to the Pasadena facility or become a combination of both as permitted by health and safety guidelines and required for the project.
Candidates should have experience analyzing dramatic texts in English and be comfortable presenting their thoughts and ideas in both writing and conversation. They should also be familiar with online database systems and interested in pursuing a career in theatre and/or related fields.
