ENCORE is looking for an intern with some experience in theatre for the dual role of Instructor/Production Intern, working approx 30-40 hours/week running June 2023 through January 2024. For live or virtual productions interns will teach theatre skills to all ages and work extensively with youth and adults at times. They may take notes, communicate with participants, make mic, costume, or shift plots, stage manage a rehearsal, work backstage during productions, and/or work with small groups to review at the director's discretion. Experience in/near theatre, familiarity with Microsoft and Google programs, excellent customer service skills and strong communication skills are a must.
The successful candidate will be extremely organized and be comfortable working around a variety of temperaments in a very busy environment, as well as have the ability to think critically and solve problems. They will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft and Google programs and have excellent customer service and communication skills. They will work very well with children and all ages and will have experience performing in or around musical theater. Virtual programing, musical theatre experience and knowledge of audio and lighting is not required but will be extremely helpful. In addition, the intern will help with the details of running a theatre program, processing student enrollments, creating and selling tickets, answering emails & phones, and contributing ideas as part of the planning team.

When not virtual, Encore is based out of Torrance and performs in the local Beach Cities and Harbor Areas.
