Odyssey Theatre Ensemble (OTE) is a 48 year-old producing theatre company, which operates a three 99-seat theatre complex in West Los Angeles. In its 48-year run, OTE has captured over 500 theatre awards, including an unprecedented two-time win of the Los Angeles Drama Critics prestigious MARGARET HARFORD AWARD. Its six-play season consists of challenging new work, revitalizing classics and the best from the contemporary international theatre scene.
Interns at The Odyssey will experience the entire process of theatrical production, from start to finish. Areas such as casting, marketing, assistant stage management, assistant directing, design, and production will be included in the internship experience. Duties include but are not limited to: helping to organize auditions, taking notes at rehearsals, assisting prop and costume designers, helping to create marketing materials, and being involved with the building and striking of sets. Additionally, interns will work with the Production Manager, Artistic Director, and Box Office Manager in other aspects of running a 99-seat theatre.
The prospective intern should have a general knowledge of the production and/or technical aspects of theatre. Close attention to detail, computer literacy and organizational skills are expected. A willingness to "take the ball and run with it" will be encouraged.
