About

May Sun's public art practice draws inspiration from the hidden narratives of the landscape, the aspirations of the users of the space and the surrounding natural and built environment which inform her choice of materials. Sun received her MFA from Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles and BA from the University of California, Los Angeles. She received the Honor Award from the Westside Urban Forum 2012 Design Awards for the Robert F. Kennedy Inspiration Park and grants from the Durfee Foundation, Center for Cultural Innovation, J. Paul Getty Trust Fund Fellowship, Art Matters, Inc., California Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
