The Ebell’s Technical Theatre Internship offers hands-on experience in preparing, maintaining, and operating both state-of-the-art and traditional equipment for a variety of productions, including in-house productions, partner programs, and client rentals. Working alongside The Ebell’s Director of Production, Stage Supervisor, and in-house team of technicians, interns will learn a range of technical specialties, client relations, and teamwork skills essential for a career in the arts. The position is on-site and will work roughly 20 hours a week for 20 weeks, beginning in July and ending in November.
Preferred qualifications include experience in a high school or college theatre program, coursework in technical theatre, or participation in community productions. Applicants should have basic knowledge of stagecraft, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. While no professional experience is required, familiarity with industry-standard equipment or backstage work is a plus. The Ebell encourages students pursuing a career in technical theatre to apply.
