Los Angeles is getting a new hiking trail! As part of the project, the LA County Department of Arts and Culture will commission a new artwork. The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre Scenic Trail traverses a one-mile ridgeline around the Ford Theatre. The first segment is an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant elevated boardwalk concluding in a viewpoint of Hollywood. The trail continues on to natural environments and views of the Hollywood sign and Reservoir. We invite your ideas for the new artwork's themes and possibilities!

The Public Art in Private Development Ordinance will be presented for final vote at the Board Hearing on September 15, 2021 at 9:30AM. This new ordinance would allocate 1% of the building valuation of private development projects in unincorporated areas of the County to fund public art, cultural facilities, conservation, artistic and cultural services, and programs within the project’s site area.

KCET ARTBOUND: Arts Education explores the value of arts education for the youth, communities, and creative economy of LA County. A collaboration between the LA County Arts Ed Collective and KCET, this documentary features stories from the young poets of LA-based organization Get Lit, students, policymakers, educators, and artists including Catherine Opie, Vijay Gupta, Hector Tobar, Debbie Allen, and Chloe Arnold.
State of the Arts: Arts and Advocacy
A half-day of learning and discussion to support the arts and culture field in this time of heightened activity and urgency on how we can engage in legislation, campaigning and advocacy at the federal, state, and local levels, not only at election time but throughout the year on issues ranging from public health, social justice and racial equity, arts recovery, and community investments through our work in arts and culture.
